A day at Reviera

This weekend my friend and colleague Mark of PhotoFXStudio and I photographed newlyweds Alina and Zhenya, a fun an exciting couple with a hilarious wedding party. Here’s a couple of lightly processed images from the event.

A big party for a little guy

This Saturday I was hired by PhotoFXStudio to photographically document little Jonny’s first birthday in Brooklyn. Here’s a couple of pictures from that event. It was a fun party once the kid went to sleep.

How to look thinner in photos …

I’ll be the first to admit that some people don’t look as flattering and beautiful as they’d like to be portrayed. Here are the 4 steps to pose your subject in a beneficial light ..

Step 1: Turn partially sideways to the camera, planting one foot in front of the other. Point your toe to the camera and place your weight on your back foot.

Step 2: Pull head forward slightly to minimize any appearance of a double chin.

Step 3: Hold arms slightly away from your body. This keeps upper arm flab from flattening out and therefore appearing flabbier (much like thighs do when one sits on a couch).

Step 4: Pull shoulders back, chest forward and gently suck stomach in.

* These steps were partially paraphrased from about.com

Another weekend, another wedding

This past Sunday I spent a breathtaking (in both senses of the word) day shooting a 15 hour weeding with my friend and colleague Mark of PhotoFXStudio.

Here’s the shot of your truly (find me in the picture)

Photos with a twist (Environmental Portraiture)

Today, I had a chance to create a small series of environmental portraits during a martial arts class led by one of the most renown sensei that I know of (take it at face value). Below is a couple of pictures of his students, young and old(er)
